For this project, I created an “hypercube” by applying the actions of bending, deformation, and joining. After each action, I reinforced the structure using ropes and knots of varying sizes to add stability.
The resulting hypercube generates a visual effect of compression and expansion. For instance, the knots unfold like columns, lending rigidity to the overall structure. Some knots protrude dramatically, while others seem to sink into the material, acting as pressure points.
In addition, the deformations are varied; in certain areas, the effects are pronounced, while in others, they are subtle, creating a gentle curvature that evokes a feeling of organic forms, hinting at an anthropomorphic quality.
